The air that surrounds the tropical rainforest is rich on oxygen. When trees are burnt, they release carbon dioxide into the atmosphere. The Rainforest can not hold the carbon dioxide therefore it gets released into our air polluting not just the rainforests but us also. The gas also creates holes in the ozone layer which is increasing the risk of global warming. Ices in some regions are melting because of the suns rays causing danger of flooded coasts and islands. Logging is happening in most areas. This is mainly done for money even though there other less harmful ways such as harvesting fruit or nuts. The precious timbers cut down from the rainforest are usually used to make furniture, news papers, magazines and packages are sold over seas. Recycling papers helps to save the trees. Luckily in some areas there are wild life parks and reserves that protect animals, plants and endangered species. Rare plants and different animals are collected from the wild and sold around the world, this is adding to their risk of extinction. Some forests are cleared for factories to drill oil or dig for coal or other metals such as gold and silver. The waste left behind from mines pollute the rivers and kill the wild life. They are also being cleared to make space for plantations, to grow rubber sugar, palm oil and coffee beans. During harvest time most of the crops are sold over fund’. All of seas rather than being used to feed the people of the village. Much of the land is used for farming but when the forest soil is too thin and poor, crops fail to nourish and more forest gets cleared for new plantation. You can also help by supporting charities such as ‘Rainforest people’ or campaigns such as ‘Green peace’ ‘Friends of the Earth’ and the ‘World life  these organisations help protect rainforest all around the world. When thinking of buying tropical plants or animals check to make sure they aren’t collected from the wild. We should save the rainforest because what affects them will eventually affect us.
